MY dad's day.. and mine?

Yesterday was my dad’s 60th Bday bash! Belated happy birthday Dad! And we all celebrated it with our usual dinner dine out somewhere nice and to where everybody will agree to eat on.

It wasn't a very ordinary day for both dad and me.

When I woke up at around 9am, I heard the doorbell rang. It's a delivery! A native lechon (roasted pig), gift from his former subordinates and friends. Then after that another doorbell from outside, and came two different flavored cakes (yummy), also from his friends! Then an hour after that, a visit from a friend who came to greet and catch things up with.

My dad’s day was happy! It was his birthday, of course! Even though he will be applying for his senior citizen’s discount card sometime soon, he was thankful and delighted.

As for me, by the time I finished lunch, I helped in the kitchen and washed some dishes for the pig. I was so busy preparing and fixing dad’s gifts in the kitchen and forgot about my usual errands, which was being in my room, blog or even chat and be near my cell phone. And that day, I was not even thinking of doing those what I so called “tasks”. And hey, that day was not a very ordinary day for me as I've said... Because later that afternoon, I got a phone call from a friend, asking me if I'd received anything that day. Then BOOM! I saw an unusual text message! YES! I have been granted a visa! (weeeeeeeeeeee).. After waiting for 4 long months, now it's here! Waiting is done!! And I'm very happy!
But let's not forget... Yeah, it’s dad’s day! It's a good thing everybody else made him feel like it does !

You can stop smoking

Smokers: BEWARE!

Smoking is an addiction (uhh, yeah!). Tobacco smoke contains nicotine, a drug that is addictive and can make it very hard, but not impossible, to quit. According to research, more than 400,000 deaths in the U.S. alone each year are from smoking-related illnesses. Smoking greatly increases your risks for lung cancer and many other cancers.

Smoking harms not just the smoker, but also family members, coworkers and others who breathe the smoker's cigarette smoke, called secondhand smoke.

FYI: If both parents smoke, a teenager is more than twice as likely to smoke than a young person whose parents are both non-smokers. In households where only one parent smokes, young people are also more likely to start smoking. But you know, you can stop smoking !

So QUIT SMOKING! Quitting smoking makes a difference right away - you can taste and smell food better. Your breath smells better. Your cough goes away. This happens for men and women of all ages, even those who are older. It happens for healthy people as well as those who already have a disease or condition caused by smoking. Plus, quitting smoking saves money.. hahaha!

Here's a teaser for you all smokers.. The attached picture is a ceiling mural made for YOU. Well, it really does paint a thousand words..

I'll never complain again.. ever!

I'll never complain again..

Enjoy life how it is and as it comes Things are worse for others and is a lot better for us . There are many things in your life that will catch your eye but only a few will catch your heart....pursue those...

thinking hard when you’re not suppose to...

I planned to hear the 6am mass here in our village for a change. It’s my birthday yesterday and I wanted to do something different. So I set the alarm at around 5:30 the night earlier. Before it went on doing its ascending shrill of “Yeah” by Usher alarm tune, I was already awakened by a call. A long distance call! Yes, it was Tina. We talked around for more than 10 minutes. Not the usual Hi – How are you? - Goodbye conversation. It was a Hi – Happy Birthday – How are you? – Bye one! I know it will cost her, but hey! It’s MY day, that’s why.

After that expensive 13 minutes and 43 second talk, I decided to linger around for a moment. Thought mainly about what my life has been and had become. I was looking back to the year just passed. Took a couple of deep breaths, did my occasional morning procastination and just thought, hey, I had a blast! A multicolored year with some frowns and bum-outs!!

It was not a very long linger time, believe me, because I kinda fell asleep (again)! Wooopss, and totally forgot about attending church! Sigh! Still the normal me, a sleepyhead! Hmmm..

Then I woke up, thought about our little chat that morning because Tina asked me, what would you change now you’re 29? My, oh my, what to CHANGE?!? A toughie!

Well, I didn’t immediately answer her when she dropped the bomb there. It was one of those Million dollars, hard to answer, mind blowing questions. And it was only 9am! Ha-ha. Still too early for me to think! Duh!

But what came out of my mind was a bleeder! Didn’t even understand that I thought of “nothing” at first, when I know I distinctively should or would change something about me. Clock was ticking and i was just shooting blanks. Well, CHANGE is such a big word! True! Com’on, Give me a slack here!

And now, another day has ended and still, I can’t think of an answer to her simple and precise question: What shall I change about me now I’m a year older?? Think Ceejay, think!
